Seattle Mayor Backs Hyatt Workers

Seattle’s Mayor Mike McGinn has sent a letter to the owner and general manager of the Hyatt at Olive 8 in Seattle, WA, backing non-union workers’ demand for a fair process to organize.

“I believe workers should have the right to decide whether to join a union, free of intimidation or improper interference,” said Mayor McGinn in a letter to Hyatt.

Last week, workers at Seattle’s Hyatt at Olive 8, a non-union hotel, bravely stepped forward and joined thousands of Hyatt workers nationwide to organize for a better future for themselves, their families, and their community.
